Connemara ponies at the European Championship 2025

It is time for the greatest pony event of the year! This year’s championship is held in France from July 28th to August 3rd.
As always, Connemara’s are well represented with a noticeable increase in jumping this year. In both jumping and eventing, almost every 5th pony is a Connemara! A single Connemara competes in dressage, but he is one to watch. Last year, “Nice One” got the best Connemara result in dressage in at least 20 years, including a team bronze medal. He comes straight from a massive win at the Falsterbo International Horse Show.
Looking at the breeding of the ponies, we have the usual performance lines represented. Dexter Leam Pondi is the damsire or sire’s sire of 4 jumpers.
Tulira Robuck is the sire of one and damsire of 3 ponies.
Goliath van de Groenweg is the sire of two jumpers.
Gwennic de Goariva the sire of two eventer.
There are more repeats and patterns. Noticeable, Sweden is represented by 4 Connemara’s in jumping, all irish bred.
The Danish eventing team consists of 3 Connemara’s, all Danish bred!
