NASEEL the Arab being one of the outside ponies that was introduced into the Connemara pony breeding program in the 1940s and 1950s by the CPBS to strengthen, refine, and reinvigorate the breed. Before the Society became a “closed book”.

As the breed faced potential decline, Naseel was used to add stamina, quality, and performance capabilities while maintaining the hardiness of the native Irish pony.
